SMART INDIA HACKATHON (SIH) 2026: CELEBRATING INNOVATION & EXCELLENCE

The International School of Informatics and Management (Technical Campus) & The IIS University hosted the Smart India Hackathon 2026 on 16 September 2026, providing students with an opportunity to develop innovative technology-based solutions to contemporary national and industrial challenges.

The event was judged by a  panel of judges comprising Mr. Atul Gupta, Technical Consultant, Halcyon Solutions, Wipro, and Mr. Ramgopal Lamrod, Department Head – Backend Technologies, Sarvika Technologies. Their expertise and professional insights added significant value to the evaluation process. Formal mementos were presented to the distinguished guests during the inaugural ceremony as a mark of appreciation.

Organised as part of the nationwide Smart India Hackathon initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the event featured problem statements across 17 diverse categories, including renewable and sustainable energy, blockchain and security, disaster management, robotics and drones, smart vehicles, and other emerging domains. A total of fifteen student teams presented their prototypes before the expert jury.

The participating teams underwent a rigorous evaluation based on parameters including novelty, complexity, feasibility, sustainability, and business potential. Each team was provided a seven-minute window to present its solution and demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of its proposed prototype, followed by interaction with the jury.

The competition culminated in an award ceremony recognising the outstanding achievements of the participating teams. IISU Agrisure secured the First Position for its solution addressing the early detection and management of crop diseases and pest infestations. The team comprised Ms. Shivanshu Sharma, Ms. Palak Sharma, Ms. Manvi Arya, Ms. Abhishek Samtani, Ms. Simran Peswani, and Ms. Samiksha Goyal.

IIIM NEXUS secured the First Runners Up Position with its solution under the Student Innovation category, focusing on technology ideas for tertiary sectors such as Hospitality, Financial Services, Entertainment, and Retail. The team comprised Ms. Nakshatra Marwaha, Ms. Kanika Agarwal, Ms. Vaibhav Sharma, Ms. Rahul Jain, Ms. Raj Vardhan Singh, and Ms. Aryan Yadav.

The Second Runners Up Position was secured by IIIM Tech Titans for developing a portal for academic-industry collaboration for skill mapping, internships, and placement. The team comprised Ms. Dev Pratap Singh, Ms. Devansh Kumar Meena, Ms. Tanmay Garg, Ms. Sadhika Jain, Ms. Nandini Sharma, and Ms. Parth Dhakad.

The event concluded with appreciation for all participating teams for their enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to addressing real-world challenges through technology.
