On August 12, 2023, 'Corporate-baithak'- A panel discussion with alumni, was organised under the aegis of AIIS(Alumni-Institute Interface Series) for the category Focus: Bridging Industry – Institute Gap with Mr. Manish Arora, Branch Manager, Reliance Retail Ltd, Mr. Nikhil Jain, Senior Vice President, Yes Bank Limited, Mr. Ajay Sharma, Senior Manager, HDFC Bank Ltd, Mr. Mayur Joshi, Senior Manager-Cluster Manager, Motilal Oswal, Mr. Himanshu Sharma, Area Sales Manager, RU Loans and Distribution Service Pvt Ltd, and Mr. Sunny Jaiswal, Project Sales Manager, AH International Pvt. Ltd.

The panellists shared their experiences and advice in working and preparing for the professional world. Hence, the students, especially the ones who will face their final year, could get lessons and insight about how to face the professional world, learn new things and tasks, meet co-workers and superiors, and make decisions for their first career.
Mr. Nikhil said that in the professional world, the consequences of failure are significantly impactful, and individuals are responsible for their failure. "Therefore, make mistakes as much as you can in the class because the lecturers will continuously guide you," he said.
Another speaker, Mr. Ajay, said the most common obstacle is the competency incompatible with a job description. To deal with that obstacle, everyone must pick their battle and gain experiences outside the classroom while still focusing on their study.
Mr. Himanshu also gave some bits of advice about how to gain recognition. "Strengthen your soft skills, and if you lack skills in your job, keep learning hard until you make it," he explained.
Mr. Mayur Joshi, currently working in the investment field, had a similar opinion with Himanshu. He also admitted that accounting is a necessary skill in every working field. "You have to know what you are good at, and accounting will complement that," He explained.
Mr. Sunny emphasised that students must take their studies seriously and hone their soft skills.
"The structure of how you think will define who you are, and it will be helpful in the professional world," he said.
Mr. Ajay Sharma also focused on the importance of soft skills. He explained that the students need to join many organizational activities in building soft skills. According to Mr. Ajay, joining those activities will teach them how to become more proactive, lead, deal with people, and more.
The session equipped students with clarity, empowering them to take confident steps forward.
