12th International Conference on Management and Information Technology was organised on September 9-10 2022. The theme for the conference was "Digital transformation for Reinventing Competitive Advantage: Impact & Future Scenario." The conference was hosted in collaboration with IIS (deemed to be university), Rajasthan, Bingham University, Nigeria, Northern Technical University, Iraq, Institute for Leadership and Development communication, Nigeria, South Asian Institute for Social Transformation (SAIST), Bangladesh, India Education Centre (IEC) University, Himachal Pradesh, Northern University, Bangladesh, Center for Integrated Research of Health and Development, Bangladesh, Nepal Open University, Nepal, Himalayan Garhwal University, Uttarakhand, and CT University, Punjab. ICMIT 2021 brought together corporate leaders, academicians, researchers, and experts from different sectors to network and share innovative concepts and technologies. The conference received response of over 100+ research papers under various themes and sub-themes of the technical sessions covering a wide range of topics from countries including Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Greece, Nigeria, and UAE.
Experts from all around the world graced the international conference. The esteemed speakers included Prof Beatriz Lucia Salvador Bizotto, Department of Social and Applied Science, Santa Catarina – Brazil, Prof(Dr) Sheng Lung Peng, National Taipei University of Business, Taipei Republic of China, China, Prof(Dr) Glenn Muschert, Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, Khalifa University Abu Dhabi UAE, Prof(Dr) Phil Harris, Professor Emeritus, University of Chester, United Kingdom, Prof(Dr.) Rajasekaran Selvaraju, Department of Information Technology, University of Technology and Applied Sciences –Ibri, Sultanate of Oman, Prof(Dr) Varinder Singh Rana, Dept. Chair, Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, City University College of Ajman UAE and Dr. Nadiia P. Reznik, Doctor of Economics Sciences, Faculty of Agrarian Management, National University of Life and Environment Sciences, Ukraine.
The conference began with a prayer for the almighty's blessings and the lighting of a lamp. Then, through his Welcome Address, Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director ISIM, marked the commencement of the two-day conference. The welcome address was followed by introduction to the conference by Dr. Manju Nair, Principal, ISIM. She provided an overview of the organisation of the conference.
Dr. Aquil Busrai, Chief Executive Officer, Aquil Busrai Consulting, Gurugram, Haryana, was the chief guest. In his inaugural address, Dr. Busrai greatly emphasized on the demand and acceleration across the globe on digitization and automation post COVID-19. He also shared that the technology has brought new skills that has the capability to bring faster and accurate results. Dr. Busrai said that the cultural change should happen to embrace technology with open mind so as to grow and progress in life and become great leaders in organizations.
It was followed by keynote address by the eminent Guest of Honour of the conference Mr. Bhanu Kumar Parmar, HR Head, Sr. Vice President, Ultratech Cement, Aditya Birla Group. Dr. Bhanu began his keynote address with the quote “Embrace Digitization & Embrace Death”. He said that we are surrounded by digital things: digital shopping, digital finance, digital webinars, seminars, conferences etc. it also helps in improving unemployment problem. It is needed to change the mindset of people to create a culture of acceptance in society.
After the tone for the conference was set by such distinguished personalities, the book of abstracts of the papers accepted for presentation was released online.
The inaugural session was followed by the Technical Session I titled “Transformational Technology, Innovation and Digital Collaboration”. The Session was graced by keynote and invited speeches by distinguished delegates, including: Prof Beatriz Lucia Salvador Bizotto, Department of Social and Applied Science, Santa Catarina – Brazil , Mohammad Shamshul Haque, Enterprise Advisor, Better Work Program &Coordinator; Coordinator, GEAR, Bangladesh, International Labour Organization, PPD Secretariat Office, Dhakha and Prof.(Dr.) Nadiia P. Reznik, Doctor of Economics Sciences, Faculty of Agrarian Management, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences, Ukraine.
The paper presentations in Technical Session I were held in parallel, and the session was chaired by Dr Ampu Harikrishnan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Bir Tikendrajit University, Imphal, Manipur and Dr. Vijay Gupta, Associate Professor, ISIM, Jaipur..
A Panel discussion was held on “Evolving Competitive Knowledge in a Digital World”. The panellists for the discussion were Prof. Rajesh Kothari, Advisor, Research & Innovation, Taxila Business School, Jaipur , Mr. Deepak Kumar, Principal Engineer (Analytics) –Nagarro, New Delhi, Mr. Pradeep Mehta, Consultant & Project Manager, PowerCosts, Sydney, Australia, Mr. Shivank Sharma, Director, Finurja, Mumbai, India and Ms. Asmita Singhvi, Director, Continuous Audit, Etisalat (e&).
The second day commenced with Second Technical session titled “Digital Competencies and Advantages for Business”. The Key Note speaker in this session was: Prof(Dr.) Sheng Lung Peng, National Taipei University of Business, Taipei Republic of China, Prof(Dr.) Glenn Muschert, Khalifa University Abu Dhabi UAE and Prof(Dr.) Phil Harris, Professor Emeritus, University of Chester United Kingdom. The paper presentation session was chaired by Dr. Madhavi Sinha, Associate Professor and Head, Computer Science and Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology, Extention Center, Jaipur and Dr. Aruna Dhamija, Professor and Associate Head, Institute of Business Management, GLA University, Mathura.
Technical Session III -“Fostering Synergies between IT Based Solutions and Managerial Practices for Competitive Advantage” was graced by the presence of eminent key note speaker Prof (Dr.) Rajasekaran Selvaraju, University of Technology and Applied Sciences - Ibri, Sultanate of Oman and Prof (Dr.) Varinder Singh Rana City University College of Ajman UAE. Paper presentations of Technical session 3 conducted in a parallel session. The session was chaired by Dr. Gargi Sharma, Associate Professor, ISIM and Dr. Monika Rathore, Associate Professor, ISIM.
All the paper presenters and registered participants were awarded certificates for their contribution to the conference. Selected papers presented in the conference will be published in the special issue of Oorja.
