ICMIT 2021

11th International Conference on Management and Information Technology was organised on August 20-21, 2021. The theme for the conference was "Inter-disciplinary Research in Computer Science and Management for achieving Sustainable Development Goals." The conference was hosted in collaboration with IIs deemed to be university, Rajasthan, Bingham University, Nigeria, Northern Technical University, Iraq, Northern University, Bangladesh, Center for Integrated Research of Health and Development, Bangladesh, Institute for Leadership and Development communication, Nigeria, Nepal Open University, Nepal, Himalayan Garhwal University, Uttarakhand, and CT University, Punjab.
ICMIT 2021 brought together corporate leaders, academicians, researchers, and experts from different sectors to network and share innovative concepts and technologies knowledge. The conference received response of over 100+ research papers expert talks under various themes and sub-themes of the technical sessions covering a wide range of topics from countries including Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Greece, Nigeria, and UAE.
Experts from all around the world graced the international conference. The esteemed speaker included, Prof Beatriz Lucia Salvador Bizotto, Department of Social and Applied Science, Santa Catarina – Brazil, Prof(Dr) Ajith Kumar Vice-Chancellor, Skyline University Nigeria, Prof (Dr) Indranil Bose, Dean, School of Business, University of Bolton, Academic Centre Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, Dr. Muthusamy Ramakrishnan, Associate Professor, Co-Innovation Center for Sustainable Forestry in Southern China, Nanjing Forestry University, China., Dr. H.C. Vassilakou Evangelia, Education Manager, and Academic English Instructor, The English Academy of Languages, Greece, and Prof(Dr.) Mohammad. Sk. Shahid Ullah, Professor & Head, Dept of Microbiology, Bangladesh.
The conference began with a prayer for the almighty's blessings and the lighting of a lamp. Then, through his Welcome Address, Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director ISIM, marked the commencement of the two-day conference. Dr. Gupta said that Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. SDGs address the global challenges we face, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. The Sustainable Development Goals aim to be relevant to all countries – poor, rich, and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the environment and tackling climate change. In addition, they have a strong focus on improving equity to meet the needs of women, children, and disadvantaged populations in particular so that "no one is left behind."
The welcome address was followed by introduction to the conference by Dr. Manju Nair, Principal, ISIM. She provided an overview of the organisation of the conference. Dr. Nair said that SDGs not only identify where we have to be in 2030 to create a sustainable society, they also outline new markets and opportunities and emphasised the significance of the theme of the conference in this light.
Dr. Sunil Kumar Sahu, Research Scientist, State Key Laboratory of Agricultural Genomics, South China Agriculture University, China, was the Guest of honor. Dr. Sahu shared that the Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for the entire globe. Therefore, we need to focus on global challenges to combat poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice.
It was followed by an inaugural address by the eminent Chief Guest of the conference, Shri Arvind Sharma, Chairman Cheetah Soft Tech. In his inaugural address, Pvt. Ltd. Shri Arvind Sharma said that SDGs encompass all the key development sectors and are integrated—they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others and he also said that development must balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
Significant progress has already been made across the country in recent years and India is rapidly transforming through greater use of technology, financial resources, research creativity, and innovation. Shri Sharma emphasised that channelising the strength and aspirations of the youth are necessary steps to be taken to achieve the SDGs in every context.
After the tone for the conference was set by such distinguished personalities, the book of abstracts of the papers accepted for
presentation was released online.
The inaugural session was followed by the Technical Session I titled "Transformational Technology, Innovation & Digital Collaboration". The Session was graced by distinguished keynote and invited speeches by distinguished delegates, including:

Prof Dr. Beatriz Lucia Salvador Bizotto briefed the participants on the "Impact of Coronavirus Pandemic on Brazil's Economy." She highlighted that COVID-19 had exposed Brazil to an unprecedented challenge. The pandemic plunged Brazil into another recession. Although the pain of recession can be felt across the economy, smaller firms are expected to be more affected because they tend to be more present in sectors with high face-to-face interactions and where home-based work is less pervasive. Shri. M V Padmanabhayya expressed his thoughts on Managing and reducing Information Technology Risk. He said that globally we had embraced digital transformation, which leads to increasing data breach that can leave the information vulnerable to malicious actors. Understanding information risk management and how to mitigate these risks is very significant in today's digital era she said. Prof (Dr) Ajith Kumar briefed the delegates about the Recent Advances in Technology and their impact on Management Education. He Said there is a seismic shift in the education system
And society may raise opportunities and threats for education. He said that need to gain new skills constantly and adapt and adjust to changes means access to learning opportunities and experiences has never been so important. Technology, as an enabler, is no longer a luxury but a necessity to teach new skills to more people and ever more frequently.
The paper presentations in Technical Session 1 were held parallel, and the session was chaired by Dr. Ampu Harikrishnan, Registrar, Indus International University, Himachal Pradesh. It had 16 research paper presentations. Rapporteur of the session was Dr. Preeti Tiwari, Assistant Professor, ISIM.
A Panel discussion on "SDGs: How are our Organizations faring, and the Road Ahead." Followed this the panellists for the discussion were Prof. Rajesh Kothari, Advisor, Research & Innovation, Taxila Business School, Jaipur, Mr. Deepak Kumar, Associate Vice President - Data Science, Karvy Insights, New Delhi, Dr. Pramila Sanjaya, Advisor, SIDART (Society for Integrated Developmental Activities Research Training), Ms. Saji Menon, Application Scientist, Nano Temper Technologies, Bangalore and Dr. G. Soral, Professor (Retd.), Dept. of Accountancy and Business Statistics, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur.
The delegates discussed their thoughts about the worrisome gap in India between the proportion of natural resources it consumes and the amount it owns. Dr. G. Soral highlighted that India's ecological footprint is based on the amount of productive land and sea area required to generate the resources to meet its consumption demand and absorb waste. Dr. Pramila Sanjaya shared her valuable thoughts on sustainability does not only imply conservation of the environment but also the wellbeing of our stakeholders, communities, and the world-at-large. Ms. Saji Menon said poverty is more than just the lack of income and scarcity of resources to ensure a sustainable livelihood. Its manifestations include hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other essential services, social discrimination and exclusion, and the lack of participation in decision-making, she emphasised.
Mr. Deepak Kumar stated that the current retail scenario is quite different from what it was a few years ago and that big data analytics techniques, AI, and machine learning algorithms are now being employed more than ever. He said that the retail sector has withstood the brunt of the pandemic owing to its adapting to the changing conditions with enhanced digital ability. Referring to the retail scenario in the Covid era, he emphasized that Sustainability has moved up the agenda for retail players and they are focusing on ESG, the three facets of sustainability namely, environmental, social, and corporate governance vehemently.
Dr. Rajesh Kothari moderated the session and concluded it with interesting anecdotes.

Day 2
The second day commenced with Second Technical session titled “Development in Organisation Leadership” The session was graced by the presence of eminent key note speakers including:-

• Prof (Dr) Indranil Bose, Dean, School of Business, University of Bolton, Academic Centre Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.
• Dr. Muthusamy Ramakrishnan, Associate Professor, Co-Innovation Centre for Sustainable Forestry in Southern China, Bamboo Research Institute, Nanjing Forestry University, China.
• Dr. Soumi Dutta, Associate Professor & Assistant Head of the Department, BCA & M.Sc., Computer Sc. Department, Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata.
Prof. Dr Bose shared his views on the topic “How HR is Evolving for the Future?” He shared how changing time has impacted and increased the scope of HR with time. Dr.Ramakrishnan shared his views on the topic “Sustainable Practices in Bamboo Research”. He emphasised on the significant contribution of using Bamboo as a sustainable resource. Dr. Soumi Dutta, Associate Professor & Assistant Head of the Department, BCA & M.Sc., Computer Sc. Department, Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata. She delivered her talk on the topic “Data Mining based Fake News Detection in Social Network” She shared how IT is playing significant role in detecting and minimizing the fake news on social media.
Paper presentations of Technical session 2 were conducted in a parallel session. The session was graced by the presence of Dr. S. C. Jain, Professor, Computer Science & Engineering, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota and Dr. Dhruva Pandey, Professor, ITS, Ghaziabad session chairs of the session. The session witnessed ten remarkable paper presentations. Rapporteur of the session was Dr. Tripti Bisawa, Associate Professor, ISIM.
Technical Session 3 - “Fostering Synergies between IT Based Solutions and Managerial Practices for achieving Sustainable Development Goals”. The session was graced by presence of following eminent key note speakers.
• Dr. H.C. Vassilakou Evangelia, Education Manager and Academic English Instructor, The English Academy of Languages, Greece.
• Prof(Dr.) Md.Sk.Shahid Ullah, Professor & Head, Dept of Microbiology, Ad-din Sakina Medical College, Jashore District , Bangladesh.
• Dr. Nawaf Abuoliem, Entrepreneur, Mafraq, Jordan.
Dr.Evangelia gave detailed view on the scope and techniques of Sentiment Analysis. Prof Dr. Ullah shared his experience and knowledge on the impact of Information and communication technology on the Health Care system in achieving Sustainable Development goals in Digital Economy of Bangladesh. Dr. Abuoliem shared his views in the field on investing with respect to the Impact of Local and Global Macro Economic Variables on Stock market performance.
Paper presentations of Technical session 3 were conducted in a parallel session. The session was chaired by Dr. Madhavi Sinha, Associate Professor and Head, Computer Science and Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology, Extention Center, Jaipur and Dr.Aruna Dhamija, Professor and Associate Head, Institute of Business Management, GLA University, Mathura. The session witnessed 12 noteworthy paper presentations. Rapporteur of the session was Dr. Vijay Gupta, Associate Professor, ISIM.
All the paper presenters and registered participants were awarded certificates for their contribution to the conference. Selected papers presented in the conference will be published in the special issue of Oorja.
