ISIM in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) organized National Level Awareness Programme (NLAP) on Februray 18, 2020. The event began with Saraswati Vandana and lamp lighting. Mr. B L Meena, State Director, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) graced the occasion. In his speech, he told students that khadi movement that was initiated by Mahatma Gandhi not only promoted rural self-employment but also reduced dependency of India on other countries. He oriented students with the growing initiatives of Khadi and its production. He also shared various schemes implemented by Ministry of MSME and acquainted the students with the importance of Khadi in India. The programme was an outcome of the attempt of the Ministry of MSME to encourage students/ youth to take up entrepreneurship as their career. The main objective of NLAP is to spread awareness about the schemes and activities undertaken by the Ministry of MSME and its attached organizations including Office of Development Commissioner (MSME), MSME Technology Centres, Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Coir Board, National Small Industries Corporation Limited, National Institute of MSME, and Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Industrialization. Students were shown audio-video films and presentations on the activities of the Ministry and its organizations and provided details of schemes implemented by the Ministry. E-Igniters, the entrepreneurship cell and Samutthan, the NSS Cell of the institute organized the event. The participants learnt about the various initiatives of the Ministry targeted at social upliftment. |
