MOSAIC 2019,
the 22nd annual management fest of IIIM was organized from 1-3 April, 2019.
Mosaic has always provided an opportunity to students to showcase their talent
and encouraged them to work with enthusiasm and commitment. Mosaic 2019
witnessed participation from more than 25 B-Schools.
Day 1
“The Fountain Head”, the inaugural ceremony commenced with Lamp Lighting by Dr.
Ashok Gupta, Director, IIIM and Vice Chancellor, IIS Deemed to be University,
followed by involving the blessings of Goddess Sarraswati with Saraswati Vandana.
The event proceeded with a presentation on Mr. Hari Menon, the man behind
India’s largest online grocery market.
“Quizzard - The Quiz”, was a challenging array of questions to put the
participants through a mind boggling series of rounds to determine the winner in
which the teams consisted of two members each. The event was intended to test
the contestants' knowledge and awareness of various functional areas of
management and crucial changes happening in the corporate world. The winners of
the event were Mr. Aman Sharma and Ms. Sana Parveen from FMS IRM, Jaipur and
runners up were Mr. Mukesh Jangir and Mr. Nishant Soni from Mahirishi Arvind
Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jaipur.
“Big Idea - Poster Competition”, was an event where participants had to use
their creative imagination to draw, paint or design a poster on the theme 'India
2050'. The team consisted of two participants each. The judges of the event were
Ms. Sarika Sirohi, SEO, OBEETEE Pvt. Ltd. and Ms. Ankita Srivastava, Faculty
Creative Arts, Step Ahead. The winners of the event were Mr. Balwinder Singh and
Ms. Bhavya Kheterpal from Poornima University, Jaipur and runners up were Ms.
Nidhi Chauhan and Ms. Ishita Jain from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur.
“Take the Street - Musical Street Play” was an act of courage where youth took
on societal issues which have become a challenge for one and all. The event was
planned to sensitize the ‘generation next’. The participant teams consisted of
4-6 members. The judges of the event were Mr. Rudra Asliwal, Centre Head, Jiddi
Production and Ms. Rakhi Sharma, Theatre Artist and Rajasthani Movies Actress.
The winners of the event were from S. S. Jain Subodh Management Institute,
Jaipur and runners up were from Modern Institute of Technology and Research
Centre, Alwar.
“Gem of Mosaic – Round 1”, an elimination round titled Accu- Mania, a paper and
pen round to test the business and general knowledge of the students. Accu –
Mania consisted of 25 questions to check their business acumen.
“Chain the Rhythm” was the age old game of 'Antakshari', brand named and
packaged to appeal to the younger generation. It was conceived to be a pulsating
and vibrating mix of euphonions songs and pulsating beats. The event has, in the
past, proven to be one of the most popular of all cultural events. The teams
consisted of two members each. The winners of the event were Ms. Ravisha Shringi
and Ms. Anusha Sood from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur and runners up
were Ms. Kajal Sacheti and Ms. Monika from Modern Institute of Technology and
Research Centre, Alwar.
Day 2
“Junkyard - Best Out of Waste” helped the students learn one of the important
aspects of business that is creating value utilizing scarce resources for
improving the existing product or making a new one out of waste material.
Participating teams which consisted of two members each were evaluated on the
basis of flexibility and innovation in their product development strategy. The
judges of the event were, Ms. Neha Mathur, Fevicryl Certified Professional and
Mr. Akhil Maheshwari, Founder, Naya Sawera.The winners of the event were Ms.
Akansha Nawalkha and Ms. Pratibha Singh from S S Jain Subodh Management
Institute, Jaipur and runners up were Ms. Mallika B Lodaya and Mr. Harshit
Rajpal from Taxila Business School, Jaipur.
“Picasso - Object Painting” was a vibrant and enthralling event, that allowed
the participants to paint the given object. The theme of the was “Digital
Village”. The participants were evaluated on the basis of their ability to
express their artistic talent through a prismatic drench of colours. It was an
individual event. The judges of the event were, Ms. Anupama Sharma, Professional
Painter and Dr. Mamta Bhatia, Regional Director, IGNOU. The winner of the event
was Ms. Kunika Kumari fromTaxila Business School, Jaipur and runner up was Ms.
Monika from Modern Institute of Technology and Research Centre, Alwar.
“Ad Guru - Create an Advertisement” was a game of innovation and imagination,
wherein the participants were asked to create an advertisement on any product or
service. They had to promote these products through poster making (print
advertisement), recorded TV commercial, live advertisement or any other
innovative idea. “Getting the message across” was the underlying theme of this
event. The judges of the event were, Mr. Karan Gupta, Corporate Trainer,
Teleperformance and Mr. Prateek Arora, Priority Manager, Axis Bank. The winners
of the event were Mr. Harshit Rajpal and Ms. Mallika B Lodaya from Taxila
Business School, Jaipur and runners up were Mr. Sahaj Kala and Mr. Shashank
Sharma from R A Poddar Institute of Management, Jaipur.
In “Bulls n Bears- Virtual Share Trading”, the participants were required to
analytically utilize their brain cells and win the game. The concept behind this
event was, ‘If you dream to be a millionaire make the right decision at the
right time playing as an investor’. The team consisted of two participants each.
The winners of the event were Mr. Harshit Rajpal and Ms. Mallika B Lodaya from
Taxila Business School, Jaipur and runners up were Ms. Monisha Ghatuary and Mr.
Abhisek Gautam from Taxila Business School, Jaipur.
“Hot Stepper – Dance”, epitomized a fusion of diverse classical, semi classical,
western and folk dances representing the rich cultural heritage of our country.
The teams consisted of 1 to 4 participants. The judges of the event were Ms.
Nirvika Singh Rathore, Choreographer & Event Manager, Ms. Chitra Jangid,
Director, Chitra’s Institute of Dance & Performing Arts and Mr. Himanshu Chhabra,
Regional Marketing Head, Cipla. The winner of the event was Ms. Parul Soni from
The IIS Deemed to be University, Jaipur and runners up was the team from St.
Xaviers College, Jaipur which included the following team members: Ms. Purvi
Khandelwal, Ms. Priyanshi Garg, Ms. Sonia Singh and Ms. Akshita Sharma.
Day 3
“Strings Unplugged”, a solo singing competition, provided a platform to the
participants to exhibit their melodious disposition. The judges of the event
were Mr. Rohit Kataria, Founder, Kataria’s Music Academy and Mr. Gaurav Asudani,
Zee TV Actor, Bin Kuchh Kahe Fame. The winner of the event was from Ms. Preksha
Arora from Biyani Group of Colleges, Jaipur and runner up was Mr. Kapil
Choudhary from KMS – Institute of Rural Management, Jaipur.
“Gem of Mosaic – Round 2”, the final round consisted of two sub rounds. The
first round, “Walk of Pride” was to evaluate the confidence and personality of
the budding managers. The second round “Express to Impress”, assessed the
creative thinking of the participants who had to talk about their inference of
the abstract picture shown to them. The judges of the event were Ms. Parul
Poddar, Entrepreneur, Parure and Ms. Payal Chaudhary, Director, Dainik Navjyoti
Group of Publications. The Gem of Mosaic was awarded to Harshit Rajpal from
Taxila Business School, Jaipur.
“Pinnacle- The Valedictory Ceremony”, marked the culmination of the three day
fest. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Dr. Bhanwar Lal, Director, Tourism,
Government of Rajasthan. Mr. Lal is an IAS officer of 2014 batch. In his
address, he urged the students to decide what they want to be in their life and
inculcate atleast one hobby and follow it. Mr. Lal even shared his personal life
experiences to conclude that every sphere of life involves managerial skills and
one needs to make the best out of these two years to be successful. He concluded
with three important take aways which would help the students: quick decision
making, risk taking ability and trust in one self.
He praised the performers and motivated the budding managers with his invaluable
words. Dr. Bhanwar Lal felicitated the winners with awards and certificates. He
also released “Cambuzz”, the bi-annual news letter of the institute.
With this, the three-day cultural extravaganza came to an end with glittering
prize distribution ceremony following the exhilarating performances by the
students in the group dances on contemporary, western, bollywood dance forms and
traditional, folk songs. The budding managers left the audience spellbound with
their electrifying performances. The digital presentation on glimpses of
MOSAIC-2019 reflected the fun and frolic experienced during the past three days
and had a long lasting impact on the audience.
Taxila Business School, Jaipur was announced the overall winner of MOSAIC-2019
and were awarded the Rolling Trophy.
The event was a great success with the support and efforts of the guests, media,
sponsors, all the participating institutes and the IIIM Team.
