AICTE sponsored, the 9th International Conference on Management
and Information TechnologyICMIT 2019 in collaboration with Canadian University,
Bangladesh, University of Bolton, UK, Institute for Leadership and Development
communication, Nigeria, Bingham University, Nigeria, South Asia Institute for
Social Transformation, Bangladesh, Indus International University, Himachal
Pradesh and IIS, deemed to be Universitywas held on 11th April, 2019 and 12th
April, 2019.
The conference provided a multidisciplinary forum for researchers, policy
makers, industry representatives, academicians, research scholars and
practitioners to present and discuss their experience and research results in
the domains of Management and Computer Science. Studies triggered by exponential
rise in Big Data and Data Analytics fields found prominence in the technical
sessions.
The conference received around 100 research papers under various themes and sub
themes of the technical sessions covering wide range of topics under the theme
from various parts of the country and abroad. Interactions with researchers and
experts from Nigeria, UK, UAE, Bangladesh, Nepal and from different states of
India including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala,
Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi and Rajasthan added the requisite variety and
intellectual affluence to the deliberations.
The inaugural ceremony was commenced withSaraswatiVandana and Lamp Lighting by
Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director, IIIM and Vice Chancellor, IIS (deemed to be
University).The chief guest of the conference was Dr. NairaMkrtchyan, ex-Foreign
Service Officer, Government of the Republic of Armenia & Senior Expert Armenia’s
President’s Administration. Dr. Raakhi Gupta, Rector & Registrar, IIS deemed to
be University welcomed all the Guests. Dr. Manju Nair, Conference Convener and
Principal, IIIM gave introduction about the conference. Dr. Nair informed that
the conference is one such attempt to progress together towards the path of
success by generating enduring solutions to the challenges posed by rapidly
evolving field of business and technology.
The Book of Abstracts, a compilation of selected abstracts contributed by the
participants of the conference was released by the Chief Guest in the inaugural
session. The conference received enthusiastic response from researchers,
corporate and academicians.
The inaugural ceremony was followed by Technical Session I on the theme
“Evolving Research Paradigms in Management”. The Keynote speaker in the session
was Mr. MostafaHosain, BRAC University, Dhaka. He shared his valuable thoughts
on the theme of Technical session I.
The session was chaired by our eminent guests Professor N. D. Mathur, Head,
Department of Economics, Manipal University, Jaipur, Mr. Deepak Kumar, Senior
Manager, Karvy Solutions, New Delhi. Dr. Mathur set the tone for the session
with his address sharing experience in the field of managing data. Mr. Deepak
deliberated on the significance of using data intelligently. During the session,
papers on topics like, “Measuring Integration of Capital Market Indices Across
World”, “Development and implementation of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
system using Artificial Intelligence”, “Influence Of Specific Human Resource
Management Practices On Employee’s Creativity”, “Impact of Digitalization of
Banking Services on Customer’s Satisfaction”, “Assessing Comparative Advantage
of India in Rice Exports”, “Evaluation of Financial Literacy In India: With
Special Reference to District Una, Himachal Pradesh”. The best paper award for
the session was presented to Dr. VandanaSachdev&Ms. Tina Jain on their paper on
Impact of Digitalization of Banking Services on Customer’s Satisfaction.
The Technical Session I was followed by the panel discussion and panelisits for
same were Dr. Rajesh Kothari, Vice Chancellor ,The ICFAI University, Jaipur,
Dr.Varinder Singh Rana, Dean, Faculty of Hospitality, GNA University, Punjab,
Mr. Deepak Kumar, Senior Manager, Karvy Solutions, New Delhi, Dr.TanjulSaxena,
Associate Professor, Institute of Health Management & ResearchUniversity, and
Dr. NairaMkrtchyan, ex-Foreign Service Officer, Government of the Republic of
Armenia & Senior Expert Armenia’s President’s AdministrationJaipur. The
sessionwas very interesting and informative and attracted the participants
attention towardsSustainable Research in Management and Computer Science.
The esteemed panel focused on sustainability in environment, data security,
cultural impact on organisations and data analysis. They discussed that last few
years have seen remarkable changes in globaldevelopment. The esteemed panelists
conversed about how Big data is an emerging paradigm applied to datasets whose
size is beyond the ability of commonly used computing platforms for capturing,
managing, and processing the data. Such datasets often arise from various
sources that are unstructured such as social media, sensors, scientific
applications, surveillance, video and image archives, Internet texts and
documents, Internet search indexing, medical records, business transactions and
web logs. The eminent panelists also focused on the fact that sustainability is
a broad field and it aims to optimize our environmental resources using methods
from engineering, mathematics and computer science.
Day 2
The day two commenced with the second Technical Session titled “Evolving
Research Paradigms in Computer Science”.
The Key Note speaker in this session was Prof. ArhanSthapit, Faculty of
Management, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. Sir enlightened the participants with
the fact that human touch will always outshine machines. Computational
sustainability can't be achieved with piece-meal research efforts. It requires
truly interdisciplinary teams, where computer scientists work directly with
researchers from different sustainability areas.
The invited speaker of the session was Dr. Varinder Singh Rana, Dean, Faculty of
Hospitality, GNA University, Phagwara, Punjab. Dr. Rana shared that computers
have helped in revolutionizing the commercial world and transformed the lives of
the general public through the development of the Internet and mobile
technologies.
The session was chaired by theDr. MadhaviSinha, Associate Professor, Birla
Institute of Technology, ExtentionCenter, Jaipur and Dr. NishthaKeswani,
Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science, Central University of Rajasthan.
During the session papers on topics like “Decision Tree Using Artificial Neural
Network”, “The Impact of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence on
Manufacturing”, “Fraud Detection in Banking Using Data Analytics”,
“Conversational Response Analysis using Chatbots”, “Sentiment Analysis of
Twitter Data using Statistical Analyzing Tool R”, “Analysis of Mobile
Application Testing Techniques” were presented. The best paper award for the
session was presented to Dr. Monika Rathore&Ms. Shruti Gupta on their paper on
Decision Tree Using Artificial Neural Network.
This was followed by Technical Session III for which the topic was “Research
Methods and Interdisciplinary Research”.
The Keynote speaker of the session was Mr. Desmond OnyemechiOkocha, Executive
Director, and Institute for Leadership & Development Communication, Abuja,
Nigeria. Mr. Desmond said that with the help of Interdisciplinary Research tools
India has enhanced productivity of the tourism Industry. Tourism is currently a
complex and globalised phenomenon with demonstrated socio-economic importance.
The invited speaker of the session was Dr. NairaMkrtchyan, ex-Foreign Service
Officer, Government of the Republic of Armenia & Senior Expert Armenia’s
President’s Administration. She shared her thoughts on Armenia: The new Silicon
Valley of the former Soviet Union. Dr. Naira shared how Armenia is a favorable
country for foreign direct investments in ICT.
The session was chaired by Dr. AmpuHarikrishnan, Registrar, Indus International
University, District Una, Himachal Pradesh. During the session papers on topics
like “A Study of Environment Friendly Practices with Reference to the Waste
Management in MSMEs”, “Impact Of Interactive Marketing Strategies Of Yes Bank
And IndusInd Bank On Customer Satisfaction”, “Giving it back to society:
Escalating Volunteerism for social development”, “Influence of Advertisement on
Customer's perception”, “Paradigm shift in Employee Engagement: Cases from
Indian Epics” were presented. The best paper award for the session was presented
to Mr. VivekMathur& Mr. PankajRijhwani, on the topicApplication of Markowitz
model to analyze Risk and Return: A case study on top 30 stocks listed in BSE.
Selected papers presented in the conference will be published in the special
issue of the institutes’ journal of Management & IT.The conference culminated
with thanks to the guests, delegates, reviewers, advisory committee, and
co-organizers for their support for the success of the conference by Dr. Manju
Nair, Principal IIIM.
