The institute conducted a Faculty Development Programme (FDP)
on January 7, 2019. The topic was Roadmap to Quality Publications in Management
& Computer Science. The resource person was Prof. O. P Gupta, Professor, Marilyn
Davies College of Business, University Of Houston-Downtown.
He highlighted the importance of writing quality research papers and gave a
reviewers’ perspective on evaluation of research manuscripts. He told the
participants that one should conform writing guidelines of research journals. He
shared that not following the writing standard set by a journal is often the
most common reason for rejection of papers. Prof. Gupta guided the participants
while taking them through the different sections of a typical research paper,
from Abstract to Conclusion.
He enunciated rejection is common in academic publishing, and should be taken
positively, and learn from the valuable peer suggestion and observation.
