IIIM organized a Faculty Development Programme through “Drum Circle” on April
16, 2018, group activity forphysical, mental, and spiritual health. The resource
person was Mr. Manu Chandak. He started his session by highlighting importance
of a ‘jembe’ (rope-tuned skin-covered goblet drum played with bare hands),
originally from West Africa. He acquainted participants that the name of the
jembe comes from the saying "Ankedjé, ankebé" which translates to "everyone
gather together in peace" and defines the drum's purpose. |
