ICG Achievers

Ashima Agarwal, B.Com Part III participated in the Youth Festival organised by Opus Media Entertainment on the 24th and 25th January, 2007. She made the college proud by bagging the II nd position in the Debate Competition and was awarded a certificate and trophy by renowned T.V. anchor and media personality, Mr. Rajat Sharma of India TV and Aaj Tak fame.


An NCC National Integration Camp was organised in Ahemdabad from the 12th to the 23rd of January, 2007. Under Officer Shweta Singh Bhati of BA Part III was among the 16 students representing Rajasthan and the senior most cadet there from the region. She was awarded a Gallantry Award for First Prize in the Group Dance Category for participation and choreography and also put in equal participation in the Group and Solo Song categories.


Ms. Shivangi Malik of B.Sc. Part II stood third in the Chemistry Quiz organised by the Chemistry Deptt. of University Maharani's College on the 15th Dec. 2006. It was a written test She qualified for the third  position, She has been awarded a cash prize of Rupees 500.


Deepshikha Sharma of B.Sc. Part II stood first in the Playwriting competition organized by the North Zone Cultural Centre which is a Govt. of India undertaking. She had scripted the play ‘APNA GHAR’. She was awarded a cash prize of Rs. Five Thousand and a Certificate. The NZCC had invited originally scripted plays from the students so as to encourage creativity amongst them. The zone incorporates the states of Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.


Hena Pore, a student of B.Com. Part II of International College for Girls, would be soaring high in the sky in the presence of the Prime Minister of India in a Microlite Aircraft, in New Delhi on the 27th of January 2007 at 11am. Sergeant Heena is the first woman from the state to be selected for flying a Microlite Aircraft. Earlier Pore won the Gold Medal for Microlite flying in the All India Air Force Camp held at Bangalore. Recently she has been honoured by the Defence Minister of India. She had the opportunity of flying high in the sky for the first time for a duration of ten minutes in the Combined Annual Training Camp of the NCC.


ICGian wins English Debate Competition  at Maharani College Tanvi Srivastava  of B.A. (H) Part I stood  First in the English Debate organized by University Maharani College on 22nd January 2007 as part of their annual college week. The topic of the debate was “Gandhigiri does not work in the present context”.


Somya Mathur, our Deputy Head Girl has secured Second position at the 7th Inter Institutional Birla National Debate Competition held on 17 November 2006 at Kolkata. She also secured first position in the regional round and she is the only one from the state to win this laurel.


Swati Gupta of BVA III bagged the Consolation Prize in the Poster Competition organized by Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur.


METALI MEWARA SPORTS VICE PRESIDENT
Represented Rajasthan University Badminton team in All India West Zone Badminton Tournament held at Mumbai from 24 to 28 Oct. 2006.


Manisha Gupta, student of BVA participated at ‘OASIS 2006’ – the annual cultural fest at BITS Pilani and made the college proud by bagging second place in two competitions; “Tit Bits” – the Collage making contest and “Black or White” – a sketching competition. She also participated in five other events there.


Priyanka Thakur of B.Sc. II year submitted and presented an essay on the topic “Emerging Beam Technology: Future Prospects in India” and made ICG proud by bagging the third prize at the 18th All India Essay Writing Competition at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. Her essay was among the 37 oral presentations selected from 590 submitted essays. Her essay was awarded on the 27th of October as part of her tour of the Atomic Centre from 23rd to 30th October 2006.


Shruti Raizada made us proud by bagging second position in the Fashion Sketch Competition conducted as part of the ‘Desert India Fashion Week - 2006’ being organised by Studio Big Boss and City Bhaskar from the 1st to 7th November, 2006.


A team of 5 girls from the faculty of BCA, ICG participated at ‘MAYUKH’ held at Banasthali, main campus on 9 & 10 of sept, 2006.

Mayukh is an IT related event. Our girls took part in 7 events out of which they reached the final in 5 of them. The girls who participated were:-

The ICG team bagged Ist prize in Tamas (surprise event), IInd prize in Verbotrix (word puzzle) & IIIrd prize in Demur Arena (IT Quiz). 

The I.C.G. teams bagged IIIrd place among the 12 colleges that participated.

 

The Academic Enrichment Committee of the college organised a presentation on Campus Ambassador Programme for the country’s fastest-growing BPO – InfosysBPO (Progeon), Bangalore – on Sept. 12 , 2006.As part of the selection process towards Graduate internship the programme – aimed at final year students – included a briefing, followed by FAQ, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The chosen candidate, Akanksha Singh, B.A. (Hons.) III year is entitled to a 6 – day intensive training at Infosys locations at Bangalore and Mysore (all expenses paid, stipend included).  


The Miss Chik Competition :
The Miss Chik Competition for beautiful hair held at the Vidya Ashram School on the 14th of September saw ICGians dazzle the denizens of the Pink City. 

Aparajita Vijayavargiya B.COM I bagged the First Position while Nidhi Karwa B.COM (HONS) III got the Third Prize at the contest.  

Also among those felicitated was Tahira Sayeed BA III, their choreographer and co-ordinator. 

Among the other winners from ICG was Himanshi, B.COM II and Vidhita Ranawat, BA I who was declared ‘Upcoming Model’.


Sheetal Rathore represented the state by performing at the RANA (Rajasthan Association of North Americans) convention at New York, USA. 


Rajni Choudhary and Aditi Singhal preformed at the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony with Shiamak Davar's Group at Melbourne, Australia.

 

 


Somya Mathur, our Deputy Head Girl has made us proud by bagging the Best Speaker award for college level at the 7th Inter Institutional L.N. Birla  National Debate's regional round held on 23rd August 06 at the Delhi Public School R.K. Puram, Delhi. She will now be representing the region at the national finals to be held at L.N. Birla High School, Kolkata.

 


Cdt. Sgt. Manisha Kaka of B.Com 3rd year was selected for Air Force Attachment Camp, Dundigal, Hydrabad. She was the only girl cadet who represented the State.

 


Charu Kalra B.Sc. II yr. attended the Pre Thal Sanik Camp held at Jawar Mines from 29th - 10 September 2005.
She also attended a Training Camp for Thal Sainik Camp held at Udaipur from 11th - 22nd September 2005 and a Thal Sanik Camp held at Delhi from 23rd September' 05 to 4th Oct' 2005.

 


Ruchi Sangwan B.Sc. III  has  done  30  hours  of Micro Light Zen Air Flying including  a  Ferreiyn from  Jaipur to Kota.  She is  the first  cadet to have  interviewed CAS  (Air Chief Marshal S.P. Tyagi) at AHQ's New Delhi. She also attended All India Vayu Sainik Camp held at Bangalore from 2 October 2004 to 16th October 2004 and Pre-RDC Camp at Gandhi Nagar, Jaipur from 7 December 2003 to 19 December 2003 as an Aeromodeller.


Shweta Singh Bhati BA II attended the ATC Camp held at NCC Complex, Gandhi Nagar, Jaipur from 15 to 26 July 2005. She represented ICG in Solo dance and bagged the First prize.


Girija Tanwar B.Sc. II attended the NCC camp held at Cuttak from 14 June to 24 June 2005. She also attended the ATC Camp held at NCC Complex, Gandhi Nagar, Jaipur from 15 to 26 July 2005.
