Aashirwaad 2007-08

The XII class students were bid adieu in a simple, yet solemn and meaningful ceremony on 20th February, 2008, when they received the blessings of their Principal Dr. Ashok Gupta, Vice Principal Ms. Mala Agnihotri and the teachers.

This day is always a very significant day for the XII class students as they congregate in their uniforms, as IIS students, probably for the last time, before embarking on a new path leading to a career, a profession as responsible adults.

The members of the students Council from XII handed over ‘lit diyas’ to the members from XI class, symbolizing transferring the responsibilities on them as the next torch bearers.  ‘Words of Wisdom’ in the form of Shlokas were recited and the students took an oath to always take the path of righteousness.

The teachers sang the beautiful song ‘Taare Zameen par’ dedicated to all the children of the world, followed by a song sung by the students, ‘Hum Hain Manzil ke Sikandar’.  The Principal Dr. Ashok Gupta, in his speech blessed the students and wished them luck for their forthcoming examination.  He advised the students to be focussed, disciplined in whatever they do and move out into the world with the values imbibed in them and the demeanour expected of them, so that their alma mater would be proud of them.

At the end, the students were presented with mementoes, a copy of the Bhagwat Geeta and a good luck card each.
