IIS students visit Holland

India International School, Jaipur participated in the student exchange programme with the International School, Hilversum, Netherlands from 14th to 25th April 2007. The programme was aimed at satisfying the youth's curiosity and generating awareness about each other's nation. The team comprising of Eight students and two mentors stayed with their Dutch friends and took part in various curricular and extra curricular activities.

Bhavya Gupta, Urvashi Sharma, Vedita Saraf, Aditya Vijay, Shorya Umang Jain, Khushboo Agrawal, Kamayeni Gaurav, Rupal Chaturvedi and two mentors Ms. Seema Singh & Ms. Guneet Kaur were a part of the exchange programme and its aim was cultural exchange between the east and the west.

Ms. Jetty Van Driel, Principal, the International School, Hilversum welcomed the guests from India. The students had classes on the government organization, Plonders (Dutch landscape), Anne Frank and the Dutch language. A visit to the Town Hall was arranged followed by a reception by the Mayor of Hilversum.  

The IIS members visited “Spakensburgs” where they got the feel of a Dutch village with the host families. During the course of their stay the students visited the Hague-International Court of Justice, Hetloo, Excursion to Amsterdam, Anna Frank House, Tulip Park, Noordwijk Beach. There was a Drama, Dance & Song presentation by the students and teachers of IIS, which got a lot of appreciation.
