SPIC MACAY organized a Shehnai Recital Concert in our school on 28^th September, 2007.  The famous duo Mr. Sanjeev and Ashwini Shankar played the Shehnai.  They were accompanied by Mr. Anand Shankar on the Tabla Mr. Hemant Kumar on the Sur Shehnai.  

Mr. Ashwani Shankar manifested their strong affinity towards music at the age of seven and five.  After formal training in pursuit of proficiency of the highest order in taal, raga and laya, both were awarded scholarship by the govt. of India, Department of Culture for their outstanding talent in the field of music.  At present Mr. Sanjeev and Mr. Ashwani have been consolidating their knowledge under the able guidance of the legendry sitar maestro Pt. Ravi Shankar.  In the year 2003, Mr. Sanjeev gave part of the background score and also played Shehnai in the film “Letters from Rishikesh” which was produced for the National Television of Israel.
