IIS GURUKUL TRIP TO KARUR CHANDRA KULISH SMRITI VAN

On December 22, 2007 an environmental education trip to Karpur Chandra Kulish Smriti Van  was conducted for IIS Gurukul students.

Smriti Van is engaged in conservation of natural wealth, protection of environment and sustainable use of natural resources for a balanced and healthy development of future generations.

Children were full of cheer and smiles as they headed towards the Smriti Van. On that chilly Saturday morning the Gurukul girls walked along a escort in the Smriti Van to learn about biodiversity. Escort took the children along the nine trails in the Smriti Van introducing them to various trees, their names and their identification characteristics etc. The girls also raised various queries which were responded very well by the escort.
Girls also visited the years old “Bhomiya Ji” temple situated on a small hill within the Smriti Van. This trip gave the students a unique opportunity to understand the biodiversity.
