National Seminar on Strategizing business: Mapping for Excellence was oraganized in India International Institute of Management. The seminar was presided over by Prof Chakarborty, IIM Calcutta. the key note speaker Mr Om Prakash Gupta from  Professor & HOD (Marketing) Prairie View A&M  University, USA. the seminar was inaugurated by P.K. Saha, GM, Marketing BSNL, Jaipur.  The session commenced with Prof. Ganesh N Prabhu of IIM Banglore, who stressed on product innovation as a strategic imperative for companies to become globally competitive. Prof Harsh Dwivedi  talked about employee empowerment through collaborative empowerment as men have become the key factor for company’s success. Mr. Mohit Arolkar from Philips India Ltd. talked about ‘Competitive Strategies’, he stressed on relating external enviornment to the company’s strengths. Mr. Hemant Anand talked about the pitfalls that companies face in  while forming various strategic alliances. Ms Vani Rajesh, Project Manager (Quality) Infosys Pune emphasized on predictability i.e. understanding the clients needs and designing strategies accordingly taking Infosys ‘Global Delivery’ model as an example.

Prof S.K. Jain, IIT Delhi conducted a case study on entrepreneurial qualities. In the end Prof Chakarborty stressed on ethics and values and how they are eroding from today’s corporate world.
