Mr. Anil

addressed the student fraternity at India International Institute of
Management with a view to broaden their understanding of the global work
environment and to make them appreciate the efficient management techniques
essential for managing diverse work force in a world where boundaries are
disappearing and distances are shrinking. During
his discourse, Mr. Bagga discussed the pivotal imperatives that need to be
accentuated to groom managers to be application-oriented and to inculcate in
them a practical approach towards work. He expressed his apprehensions about
the competence of the current management programmes to instill, in the
future managers, a capacity to turn everyday work into a rich environment
that nurtures talent and professionalism. Admitting
that learning is a complex internal process which is totally unique to each
individual, Mr Bagga stressed upon the importance of experience & skills
in the globalized economy where one of the key challenges being faced by the
organizations is the management of culturally diverse workforce. He
discussed strategies to synchronize the Indian way of working with the
global standards while strongly recommending a renewed effort to use work
related activities as positive learning opportunities. He highlighted the benefits of effective governance through the current management techniques & structures being used within PwC. While giving a comprehensive overview of the complex set of IT implementations at PwC, Mr. Bagga discussed the intricacies of Global, Regional and Local IT management and delved upon the lessons learnt in implementing SAP. |
