Workshop on Cyber Security

A workshop on Cyber Security was conducted by Mr. Milind Agarwal, Cyber Crime Investigator and President, Cyber Crime Awareness Society on 5th August, 2013 for the MCA students of II and III year. The students were acquainted with the intricacies of cyber security and were provided inputs on the relevance of cyber security and ethical hacking. They were introduced with various hacking techniques like Spoofing, Phishing, Denial of Service Attack and many more.
Discussion on live cases related to cyber crimes like ATM frauds, Credit card frauds, e-mail lottery frauds were a part of the workshop.
Information about different cyber laws for security and safety of Bank Accounts, Online Banking and personal information on social media sites was also shared. The speaker informed about the techniques used by hackers to retrieve personal information and the possible solutions to protect the data against these attacks. In the end the forum was open for discussion on ‘How to make a career in Ethical Hacking.
Students got an idea of the upcoming challenges in the cyber security field and got to know of the solutions available. They were motivated to delve more into the options and opportunities in the field.
