Montage 2015

The 11th Annual Inter Institute IT fest Montage 2015 commenced on 14th October, 2015. The inaugural ceremony “UDGHOSH” commenced with Saraswati Vandana, followed by lamp lighting. Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director IIIM welcomed all guests and participants emphasizing that fests like Montage provide an opportunity for overall development of students. He motivated students to participate in social, educational and creative events to realize their full potential.

Montage 2015 witnessed a participation of around 120 students from 15 technical institutes.

Montage 2015 was dedicated to Dr.Vijay P. Bhatkar, Father of Indian Super Computer, PARAM. A motivational illustration portraying Dr. Bhatkar’s life, achievements and contribution to the development of super computer was presented on the occasion.

Udgosh was followed by a role playing event Aamne-Samne in which each participant had to imitate a celebrity and was interviewed by mock press reporters. Ms. Kanwaljeet Kaur from University Centre for Computer Science & I.T., University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, got the first position and Ms. Priyanka Kulshrestha from Shree Karni College, Jaipur was the runner-up.  The event was judged by Ms. Devangna Chouhan, RJ 94.3, FM Radi and Mr. Sandeep Meghnani, Director, Yeshaswi Bhava. The next event Brain-Bench triggered the young technocrats with the innovative approach to quizzing. Mr. Abhishek Sharma and Mr. Jitendra Sharma from Apex Institute of Management and Science, Jaipur won the first position. Mr. Sulabh Jain and Mr. Mohit Soni from University Centre for Computer Science & I.T., University of Rajasthan, Jaipur were the runner-ups for same.

Stimulating event Cross-Road was designed to test the word power of IT wizards. Ms. Aditi Verma from, Apex Institute of Management and Science, Jaipur won the first position and Ms. Vandana Agarwal from University Centre for Comp. Sci. & I.T., University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, was the runner-up.

 

Bits & Bytes the event designed to judge the technical knowledge of participants was judged by Mr. Gaurav Singhal, Project Manager, A3Logics, Ltd. and Ms. Rakhi Thakur, Sr. Software Engineer, Bank BJB, Zurich, Switzerland. Mr. Yogendra Singh, Mr. Nikhil Nama Mr. Manish Joshi and Aditya Ladiwal from S.S.Jain Subodh P.G. College, Jaipur bagged the first prize and, Mr. Shivam Chakrapani, Mr. Rajesh Saini, Mr. Aswani Rawat, from Apex Institute of Management and Science, Jaipur bagged the second prize.

Website development competition Web-Vision tested the creativity and web designing skills of the partakers. The winners were Mr. Ashish Khandelwal, Mr. Mohit Soni from University Centre for Computer Science & I.T., University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, and Ms. Swati Sharma, Mr. Vikas Gupta from S.S. Jain Subodh P.G. College, Jaipur were the runners-up.The event was judged by Ms.Vijay Laxmi Gupta, Director, Xtreme Solutions, and Mr. Dheeraj Tanwar, Director Blazonlabs Ltd.

The CD painting competition Splash based on the theme ‘Resurgent Rajasthan’ was judged by Ms. Meghna Goyal, Managing Director, Sarang Palace and Ms. Sumita Chaudhari, Mr. Pankaj Jangir from Govt. Engineering College, Bikaner secured the first position and Mr. Jitesh Tank from Apex Institute of Management and Science, Jaipur secured the second position.

Taal   was one of the most popular cultural events of Montage 2015, based on the Antakshri, it was a  pulsating and vibrating mix of lilting songs and throbbing beats. Ms. Vandana Agarwal, Ms.Vijay Laxmi Yadav from University Centre for Computer Science& I.T., University of Rajasthan, Jaipur won the First prize. Ms. Swati Aneja & Ms. Komal Mathur from Govt. Engineering College, Bikaner were at second position

 Day two commenced with the game of perception Drishti. In this event, games like Pictionary, Memory Test were included for participants to interpret information from a number of available resources. Ms. Kanwaljeet Kaur, Ms. Vandana Agarwal from University Centre for Computer Science & I.T., University of Rajasthan, Jaipur won the first place, whereas Mr. Sulabh Jain, Mr. Abdul Mazid from University Centre for Computer Science & I.T., University of Rajasthan, Jaipur were second.

Mr. Shwet Goyal, Associate Professor, IIS University and Mr. Praveen Kaushik, Director, Indianzari.com judged the Rangoli Making competition Spectrum. It was an opportunity to express their colorful spirit, for the participants. Ms. Anshul Ojha and Ms.Lalita Jangir from University Centre for Computer Science & I.T., University of Rajasthan emerged as the winners and Ms. Kriti Rathore & Ms. Kavita Kumawat from Biyani Group of Colleges, Jaipur were the runners-ups.

Ooh La La adapted the popular game “Snakes and ladders” to test the general awareness and knowledge of the participants. The winner was Mr. Naveen Singh from Shree Karni College, Jaipur and the runner-up was Mr. Divyanshu Kumar, Apex Institute of Management and Science, Jaipur.

Thru-Ur-Eyes, the theme based photography event, was judged by Mr. Shailendra Trivedi, Assistant Regional Manager, NITCO Ltd. and Mr. Sanjay Mathur, Audio Video Assistant, The IIS University. Ms. Priyanka Kulshrestha from Shree Karni College, Jaipur stood first and Mr. Yogendra Singh from S.S. Jain Subodh P.G. College, Jaipur stood second in the competition.

In Code- Acumen, the contestants explored their programming skills & problem solving ability. Mr. Ashish Khandelwal, & Ms. Preeti Rana and Ms. Preeti Singh from Rajasthan College of Engg. for Women Jaipur won the first prize. Mr. Shivam Chakrapani and Mr. Rajesh Saini from Apex Institute of Management and Science, Jaipur won the second prize.

Collage making competition, Pixels was a platform for the paricipants to express their colorful thoughts. Mr. Virendra Kushwah, Mr. Ummed Gehlot from Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology (R.I.E.T.), Jaipur. Ms. Shiksha Jain, Mr. Abhishek Meena from University Centre for Computer Science & I.T., University of Rajasthan, Jaipur were the runners-up. This event was judged by Mr. Snehraj Lakhotia, Software Engineer, A3 Logics Ltd. and Mr. Akshat Sharma, Territory Sales In charge, Sony.

The most awaited event of the day was D4U or Dance for You. A competition, designed especially to bring out the talent of the dancers of the IT world. The winning team members were Ms. Monika Kumari Prajapat, Ms. Annu Chaudhary, Ms. Kajal Shekhawat from Shree Karni College, Jaipur, and Mr. Jagmohan Gurjar, Mr. Vijay Gupta, Ms. Mamta, Ms. Rashmi Sharma, Ms.Payal Sharma from S.S.Jain Subodh P.G. College, Jaipur stood second. It was judged by Ms. Prachi Joshi, HR Manager, Cognous Technology and Mr. Rohit Verma, Choreographer.

The valedictory ceremony “Euphony” was the celebration of ecstasy, hard work, creativity and innovation. The students of the host institute knitted the closing ceremony with stunning performances which included scintillating contemporary, western, bollywood dance forms as well as Punjabi and Rajasthani folk numbers. The digital presentation on glimpses of ‘MONTAGE-2015’ appended fragrance in the closing ceremony and had a lasting impact on all present and grabbed a standing ovation from the audience. 

The chief guest of the valedictory ceremony was Shri Ajitabh Sharma, IAS, Secretary, State Water Resources and Chairman, Indira Gandhi Canal Board, Rajasthan. He felicitated the winners with trophies as well as certificates and congratulated them for their fervent participation. He praised the participants and organizers for the success of MONTAGE-2015. University Centre for Computer Science & I.T., University of Rajasthan, Jaipur was announced as the overall winner of MONTAGE 2015 and they were awarded the “Rolling Trophy”.
