B-Quizzing 2014

IIIM organized its annual business quiz for corporate and B-Schools,  B-Quizzing 2014 on 20th December 2014

‘B-Quizzing’ launched in 2009, is ordained to build a ‘connect’ between the corporate world and the field of academics. It is designed to enhance awareness and interest levels related to happenings in the business world among the MBA students.

The quiz was designed to be conducted in two phases, the first being a written elimination round – ‘Litmus Test’ followed by onstage finals between the selected six teams. There was an overwhelming response from the corporate and management institutions. 60 teams participated in the preliminary round.

 

Teams from Reserve Bank of India, Maurya Learning Pvt. Ltd., Thinking Green Incorporation, Mahindra Finance, Malaviya National Institute of Technology, and HPCL were selected  for  onstage Quiz Finale comprising  five rounds, namely ‘Plug the Clue’ in which four clues were given to the participants to crack the question. The second round was ‘Media Acumen’ which was further divided into the two parts - Trivia and Brand-o-Mania, followed by third round which was a 3* 3 grid round  - ‘The Matrix’. Fourth round was a buzzer round named as ‘Inch Perfect’ and last round was a quick fire round named ‘Quick Flash’. The format of various rounds was kept interesting and before commencement of every round, participants were acquainted with the rules and regulations of the respective rounds.

 

It was a tightly-fought competition. Mr. Aditiya Sharma and Mr. Avinash Maurya from Maurya Learning Pvt. Ltd, won the battle. Mr. Akshay Dhadda and Mr. Ashish Daryani from RBI were first runner up and the team from Mahindra Finance of Ms. Anuja Kulshrestha and Mr. Monik Sharma were the second runner up.

 

Mr. Rakesh Ranjan, HR Head Rajathan Circle, Vodafone, was the chief guest of the event. He with Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director, congratulated the winners and gave away the cash prizes of INR 11000, 7000 and 5000 respectively to the three teams.

 

Dr. Ashok Gupta lauded the participants and said that such competitions rekindle the passion and zeal for learning.
