Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won’t, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t.

IIIM’s NEN E-Cell -“E-Igniters” organized “Roopantar”- A Business Plan Competition to provide a competing platform to the young and budding entrepreneurs on 10th February, 2018. The Inter- Institute competition provided a platform for potential ideas and early stage startups to evaluate their plan in the risk free environment of a competition. It aimed to bridge the gap between ideas and the realization of an enterprise.

The event was designed to provide an opportunity to the participants to demonstrate their incisive instincts for conceptualizing and designing the launch of a business venture for any of the non-conventional products or services. This competition highlights the strategic challenges and managerial dilemmas faced by business leaders. To judge Roopantar 2018, we had distinguished judges –Ms. AasthaAgarwal, Founder, pinkblueindia.com and Mr. NitinSetia, Director, v 4 Events Pvt. Ltd. The Guest of Honor for the event was Dr. Deepak Motwani, Regional Manager at Wadhwani Foundation.

This year Roopantar 2018 witnessed participation from 15 teams across the state. The registered teams were provided with case-lets describing some non-conventional product/services such as: “Stationary on move”, “Travel Agencies for Females”, “Green ware – a way to plastic free environment”, and “Eco- friendly and Economical Furnishing”. Teams presented a complete Business Plan and Strategy for launch of the chosen product/service. The teams after the presentation also handled the queries of the esteemed judges. It was surely a closely fought competition.

Ms. MishitaSinghal and Mr. RohitKarmwani from Jaipuria Institute of Management bagged the 1st position, Ms. Saloni Singh, Ms. AnuradhaSogani and Ms. IshitaBassi from The IIS University locked their position as the 1st runner up. The winning and runner up teams were given cash prize of Rs. 3000 and Rs. 1500 respectively.

Roopantar 2018 was a grand success and surely proved an effective platform of learning for the students. The event aimed to assist students interested in innovation and entrepreneurship, whether in the context of starting their own business or working for a firm with an entrepreneurial culture, to make good, most of their time at the B-School and to equip them for the challenges they face after post-graduation.
