Children's Day Celebration

Children’s Day is always special, as it marks the birth anniversary of our beloved Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who was very affectionate towards children. To honor this occasion, the NSS Unit of IIIM decided to celebrate November 14, 2017 with children of slum areas of Jaipur. More than 70 student volunteers visited different slum locations to convince the guardians of children to send them to the institute, ensuring pick and drop facility.

Around 74 children visited the institute escorted by NSS volunteers (IIIM students). The volunteers were enthusiastic in interacting with the kids through games and chatting. The children also presented performances including dance, song, poetry recitation and skit on social issues. The institute arranged refreshment for the children and volunteers also distributed sweets & gifts to them. The volunteers found themselves enthralled by the overwhelming expressions of joy on the face of children during the celebration. An NGO, Blossom supported the event by gifting 55 blankets for children that were handed over by NSS volunteers. The program proved to be a major booster as these children are deprived of such platforms and opportunities. At the end of the program food packets were distributed to children and on the way back home volunteers extended the message of love, cleanliness and joy to them.
