Innovation and entrepreneurship are the wheels that steer the world into a brighter future.
IIIM’s NEN E-Cell -“E-Igniters” organized “Roopantar”- A Business Plan Competition to bring out the best of the budding entrepreneurs on 25th January, 2017. The Inter- Institute competition provided a platform for potential ideas and early stage startups to evaluate their plan in the risk free environment of a competition. It aimed to bridge the gap between ideas and the realization of an enterprise.
The event was designed to provide an opportunity to the participants to demonstrate their incisive instincts for conceptualizing and designing the launch of a business venture for any of the non-conventional products or services. To judge Roopantar 2017, we had distinguished judges –Mr. Hitesh Dhanuka, Director Dhanuka Coloniser and Builders Private Limited and Mr. Sahil Agarwal, Co Founder, Hippo Cabs. The Guest of Honor for the event was Ms. Preeti Singh Associate Director – Global at Wadhwani Foundation.
This year Roopantar 2017 witnessed participation from 15 teams across the state. The registered teams were provided with case-lets describing some non-conventional product/services such as: “Ayurvedic Chain Store”, “Farm Fresh Vegetables”, “Healthcare Services and “Biomass Stoves”. Teams presented a complete Business Plan and Strategy for launch of the chosen product/service. The teams after the presentation also handled the queries of the esteemed judges. It was surely a closely fought competition.
Ms. Sonali Kabra, Mr. Deepak Lakhotia and Mr. Peeyush Sharma of International School of Informatics and Management bagged the 1st position, Ms. Lakshita Goel, Ms. Shristy Taksali and Ms.Dolly Jain from The IIS University locked their position as the 1st runner up. The winning and runner up teams were given cash prize of Rs. 3000 and Rs. 1500 respectively.
Roopantar 2017 was a grand success and surely proved an effective platform of learning for the students. The event aimed to assist students interested in innovation and entrepreneurship, whether in the context of starting their own business or working for a firm with an entrepreneurial culture, to make good, most of their time at the B-School and to equip them for the challenges they face after post graduation.
