“Significance of Soft Skills in the Corporate World” by Ms. Neha Swati, Mahindra Finance Circle HR.

On August 26, 2010 a guest lecture was organized by the IIIM on “Significance of Soft Skills in the Corporate World” by Ms. Neha Swati, Mahindra Finance Circle HR.  

Ms. Swati opined that there is a growing recognition of the importance of leadership and teamwork and that ‘Soft skills’ is one of the biggest issues in terms of employment. These skills, she said influence how individuals behave and operate within certain environments and help improve diversity and the generation of different points of view leading to effective management and  hence a better professional growth.  

Presence of soft skills, as per the speaker, has a direct impact on individuals and organizations. Employees show better performance, have more satisfaction and better quality of his working life an organizations have improved quality management, institutional effectiveness and innovation synergies.  

She drew the audience attention on significant attributes like Time Management, Knowledge and communication skills and also stressed on the importance of etiquettes, body language, dressing sense and provided valuable interview tips to the participants.  

Ms. Neha while concluding the seesion, discussed and interacted with students on various current and future prerequisites of corporate world.
