International School of Informatics & Management, Jaipur organized a day-long International workshop on “Confidence Building and Motivation”, on September 22, 2008. The resource person for this highly enriching session was a renowned HRD Consultant Mr. G. Balachandran, Certification Commissioner, JCI University, USA. Mr. Balachandran started with the elementary ways of interview management. He further stressed on the importance of body language, eye contact, hand movement and posture while speaking in public. The speaker opined that an enthusiastic and confident entrance in an interview is the key to success in interview. In his edifying session he very methodically exposed the aspirants to the fact that in today’s changing business environs, a candidate’s analytical ability, confidence, communication skills, enthusiasm, presentation skills and oratory skills are given high weightage in selection. He gave some practical demonstrations on the common mistakes made by individuals while speaking in public, delivering a lecture, during interview, or making presentations. Sir emphasized public speaking as an integral component to personality development. Mr. Balachandran cited various real life examples and also made the participant execute some well-framed exercises to realize the power of self-consciousness. Concluding the session, Sir stressed upon the ‘Soften’ technique, which every person must practice: S: Smile O: Observation F: Forward Leaning T: Touching Mentally E: Eye Contact N: Nodding The speaker’s enthusiastic discourse overwhelmed the participants and they all walked out of the auditorium with the zeal to excel. |
