Be it a challenging array of questions or a game to test the incisive instinct to win the customer mind space, a street play to judge the participant’s ability to think swiftly or a game of innovation and imagination by creating advertisements - MOSAIC 2009 has it all. Each event of Mosaic is conscientiously designed to provide a thrilling, variegating and prismatic mosaic of untainted gratification, joviality & learning.

On the august morning of April 23, 2009 the most awaited 12th Annual Inter-Institute Activity program “Mosaic 2009” of International School of Informatics and Management, was inaugurated by Shri Niranjan Kumar Arya, I.A.S, Transport Commissioner, Government of Rajasthan. “Shree”, the inaugural ceremony marked a colorful commencement of Mosaic-2009. Shri Gautam Bose, General Manager, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and State Level Coordinator Oil Industries-Rajasthan was the guest of honor.

Shri Niranjan Kumar Arya addressed the audience with his deliberation stressing the fact that the work component of any job rests on two pillars, namely technical work and management work. He also notified that the importance of management education, management development and management training cannot be over emphasized. He said that one should always keep one’s eyes open for learning. He provoked students to pertain their management strategies in transport division and motivated them through saying that by this they can straightforwardly or in a roundabout way help saving human lives

Shri Gautam Bose acquainted the audience with his beliefs and his experience that knowledge about management principles is of the utmost importance for any person in any job in life; even for the self-employed, entrepreneurs, Kings, Presidents of Countries, the richest people in life and even the lowest level of jobs. He also articulated his consideration saying that some key points like not underestimating our own self, giving due respect to everyone and not humiliating others, can help one achieve success and  overcome pebbles in the trail of life. 

The main sponsor of Mosaic-2009 is Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Co-sponsor is State Bank of India. Each event has been sponsored by various renowned organizations like The Times of India, Tata Indicom, Blue Star etc. Over 30 institutes from all over India with 500 students are participating in this three day long mega management fest.

Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director welcomed the guests and participants. He briefed the audience with the past achievements of the institution. A presentation on the inspiring life and achievements of Shri Kishore Biyani, Managing Director, Pantaloon India Retail Ltd was the highlight of the inaugural ceremony.

The inaugural day of the 3-day fest was full of enthusiasm and exuberance that was visible in all the participants.

Day One had a wide range of activities including the management quiz called 'Soch', where the contestant’s knowledge and awareness of various functional areas of management, decisive and crucial changes and happenings in the corporate world were tested through a grueling series of rounds. Manish Nainani and Nikhil Agarwal from Gyan Vihar Universe(ISBM), Jaipur grabbed the first position. Pratik Jain and Vinay Aagarwal from Subodh Institute of Management and Career Studies, Jaipur was the runner up.

The next event was ‘KRITI’, the game of innovation and imagination, wherein participants were projected to identify jumbled brand names, create an advertisement with a distinct punch line and enact it within the stipulated time. The judges for the event were Mr Musharraf Hussain, Ms Rachna Mathur and Ms Rashi Kaushik. The winner was Subodh Institute of Managemet and Career Studies, Jaipur  and Maharaja College of Management, Udaipur was the runner up.


‘HALLA BOL’, an act of courage where youth take on societal issues, which have become challenges for one and all. The event has been planned to sensitize the generation next. It proved to be an instant hit. The participants kept the audience glued to their seats with their dazzling performances. The distinguished guests who evaluated the performance of this event were Mr Vikas Tiwari, Ms Sonia Maheshwari and Mr Kailash Sawaria. The winner for Halla Bol and runner up of the event was Subodh Institute of Management and Career Studies, Jaipur and Pacific Institute of Management, Udaipur respectively. 

Among the various fascinating events of the day the most pulsating & sizzling was ‘MALHAR’, the longstanding game of antakshari, brand named and packaged to plead to the younger generation. Malhar was a cheerful and pulsating mix of lilting songs and throbbing beats. The winner was Geetanjali Institute of Technichal Studies and runner was Maharaja College of Management, Udaipur.

MOSAIC 2009 Day two
 
Continuing with the wholehearted mood and enigmatic flavor of the event MOSAIC 2009, the second day also proved to be multifarious at IIIM.
First event of the day two of Mosaic-2009 was ‘BISAAT’- A game to test the incisive instinct to win the customer mind space by developing marketing strategies for the product “Photon+”, a Wireless Broad Band service by Tata Indicom, keeping in mind product's sales, distribution, pricing and promotion with the ultimate aim of gaining maximum product mileage. Participants designed the complete portfolio with marketing plan & creative layout (logo, punch line, jingles) bearing in mind the competitive market scenario. The judges for the event were: Mr. Vijay Singh, Sr. Manager, Broadband Reliance Info. and Mr. Girija Raman Jha, Sr. Manager, Reliance Info Com. The winner was Subodh Institute of Management & Career Studies, Jaipur and Maharaja College of Management, Udaipur stood second.


Another enduring event of merriment was ‘Mask-of-Zorro’, a lively and engrossing face painting competition that invited the participants to paint the face, sans neck (neck up). The participants were projected to present spirit of life through a prismatic drench of colors. The participants highlighted the theme “Go-GREEN” with their momentous messages signified by a mixture of colors. Judges for this novel and stirring event were Mr. Arjun Mehrotra, Director, Reenax Body Canvas, Ms. Ramya Chapman, a prominent Painter and Mr. Nikhil Jain, Relationship Manager, IDBI Bank Ltd. The team from Subodh Institute of Management & Career Studies was the winner and Apex Institute of Management & Sciences, team was runner up.
In chorus was another exhilarating event, ‘NIRMAN’, in which the participants prepared astounding collages to display their creative genius to merge and integrate fragments and scraps into a picture that is meaningful in its totality and entirety. The theme for Nirman was “Global Meltdown”. This event was judged by Ms. Mamta Bhatia, Deputy Regional Director, IGNOU, Mr. Gaurav Hajela, Icon Integrated and Mr. Anurag Agarwal, Jaquar Co. Ltd. Ms. Monu Shekhawat and Ms. Ankita Jain, Maharashi Arvind Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jaipur took the winners position and Ms. Neha Jain and Ms. Preeti Anand of R.A. Poddar Institute of Management, Jaipur was second.


Subsequent in the motivating roll of the Mosaic activities was 'Chintan', planned to be a serious academic exercise wherein participants administered, “Star Bucks Back to Basics” case to identify, analyze and solve problems of the corporate world. It was a game to test business insight and decision making skills of the participating teams.  This event was adjudged by Ms. Apeksha Bhargav, Mr. Vivek Agarwal, and Ms. Srishti Mathur. The winners of the event were Ms. Nidhi Surolia and Ms. Ruchi Bevgani, R.A.Poddar Institute of Management, Jaipur and runners up were Mr. Shail Arora and Ms. Ankita Gandhi, Pacific Institute of Management, Udaipur.


‘Samanjasya’ was a competition to test team spirit, coordination, cohesion and spontaneity along the participants. Actors were not allowed to speak as per the rules of the fixture. The Event was made attention-grabbing by razor-sharp actions of the participants and came out as a giant success. It was judged by Mr. Vipin Sogani, Relationship Manager, IDBI Bank Ltd., Mr. Ashish Sharma, Branch Manager, India Infoline and Mr. Kaushal Sehgal, Asst. Manager, Tata AIG. Winner of Samanjasya was a team from Maharishi Arvind Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jaipur and runner up was Subodh Institute of Management & Career Studies, Jaipur .


‘Noopur’ symbolizes a fusion of assorted classical, semi classical and folk dances representing the rich cultural heritage of our country. Participants displayed their creativity and left the audience awestruck with their extravagant show. The judges for the event were Ms. Ragini Bhatia, and Ms. Manju Sharma, renowned dance artists. The winners of this contest were Jaipur Engineering College & Research Centre School of Management, Jaipur and the runners up team was from Maharaja College of Management, Udaipur.


With Noopur ended the Day two, anticipating the majestic valediction day.
 

MOSAIC 2009 Day Three
The concluding contest of Mosaic-2009 was ‘Swaranjali’, a singing competition, which provided a platform to the participants to demonstrate harmonious disposition. Mr. Rajkumar Ranka, Maharaja College of Management, Udaipur was the winner and Mr. Piyush Dewanda of Maharaja College of Management, Udaipur was runner up. The Judges for this Gala event were Ms. Jalaja Rao Goyal, Manager, SBI, Ms. Neeta Patni, Directorate of Education and Ms. Sushma Rajeev, Programme Executive, All India Radio, Akashwani.


Be it singing, dancing, painting or an assortment of mind catching management playoffs, when young blood is playing them, the show rocks! Young management students solved puzzles, won competitions, showcased business skills and the like, in the last two days of Mosaic 2009.


The 12th Annual inter-institute management fest concluded on 25th April 2009 evening on a idyllic note of meeting even more zestfully next year. The popularity level could be well judged with the enthusiastic participation of over 30 management institutes from all over the country.


In the valediction ceremony, the host institute presented a psychedelic mosaic of enjoyment and jauntiness. A series of cultural presentations included the much applauded ‘Dances' where the IIIMities blazed the floor.


Chief Guest Shri Sudhansh Pant, IAS congratulated the participants as well as host institute for the splendid triumph of Mosaic-2009. He said, through organizing, and participating in such events, students can spruce their persona while studying. Shri Pant accentuated the fact that hard-work, team-spirit and a focused approach would only bestow best outcome.


The Chief Guest felicitated the winners and runners up of each activity and also gave away the winning trophy to Subodh Institute of Management and Career Studies, Jaipur. Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director, IIIM, thanked one and all for such an enthusiastic and mesmerizing participation.
