Communication Skills for Technical Students

A three day long workshop on “Communication Skills for Technical Students”, organized by International School of Informatics and Management in collaboration with Management Development Academy commenced on 17 February, 2009. The practicum aimed at honing up the communication skills of the students. 

The resource person for the first session was Prof. Ramesh Arora a renowned corporate trainer and academician. Sir initiated his highly informative session by elucidating elementary ways of positive communication. He stressed on the significance of smile highlighted and 12 necessitate points of positive communication.  

Sir concluded his session with the message ‘Never Give Up, Never Give Up, Never Give Up, Never Give Up’. 

In the succeeding session on “Art of Personal Interview”, Ms. Tanjul Saxena, Director, Management Development Academy corroborated various thought provoking stories and real life incidents to learn from.

She explained how to handle a personal interview with a concept of 3 vertices

On the second day of the practicum Mr. B.D. Joshi, retired I.A.S., Mrs. Tanjul Saxena, and Ms. Priya Sinha a renowned corporate trainer, addressed the participants on the concepts of personal interview and group discussion.  

In this edifying session they also elucidated the judging aspects of group discussion and informed that leadership skills, communication proficiency, originality of thoughts, team spirit and overall impression are the deciding factors in judging the participants.  

The session ended with a trial interview of each candidate, and feedback was provided to the participants so that they could evaluate their performance & identify their strengths & weaknesses.  

On the third day of the colloquium eminent trainer in Management Skills and Behavioural Sciences Dr. Anil Mehta, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration, University of Rajasthan, Mr. Ramesh  Gandhi, a renowned corporate personality, Ms. Prerna Sawhaney, Product Head, Dainik Bhaskar and Mr. Shishir Kumar Saxena, renowned management guru, with the help of well framed mock interviews and group discussions, analyzed each participant, and     expressed their views on the weak and strong points of the students and advised them to build on their strong points for achieving success.
