Day One
Celebration Embarks on a Creative Splurge Jaipur, March 3, 2008. Be it a challenging array of questions or a game to test the incisive instinct to win the customer mind space, a street play to judge the participants ability to think swiftly or a game of innovation and imagination by creating advertisements - MOSAIC 2008 has it all. Each event of Mosaic is painstakingly designed to provide a funfilled, kaleidoscopic and psychedelic mosaic of unadulterated enjoyment, gaiety & learning.

On the august morning of March3, 2008 the most awaited 11th Annual Inter-Institute Activity  program “Mosaic 2008” of International School of Informatics and Management, Jaipur, was inaugurated by
Shri D.R. Mehta, IAS (R) former Chairman SEBI, Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director welcomed the guests and appraised them with the institute’s progress. A presentation on the inspiring life and achievements of Mr. Anand Mahindra, Vice Chairman and MD, Mahindra & Mahindra was the highlight of the inaugural ceremony.

Management students from 25 institutes are participating in this mega festival.

The presenting sponsor for the event is Airtel and the cosponsors includes TVS and Bank of Baroda. Other Sponsors include J K Cement, Udaipur Marbles, Pac Asia, HPCL, Swastic Plywood, Boon, Cure well, Papaya, Maples, ICFAI, Elements Akademia, Bombay Boys, Underworld Disc and Allied informatics etc.

The inaugural day of the 3-day fest was full of enthusiasm and exuberance that could be seen among all the participants. Day One, had a wide range of activities including the management quiz called 'Soch', where the contestants’ knowledge and awareness of various functional areas of management and decisive & crucial changes & happenings in the corporate world were tested through a grueling series of rounds. Subodh Institute of Management and career studies grabbed the first position with Gyan Vihar School of Business Management being the runner up.

Soch was followed by Halla Bol, an act of courage where youth take on the societal issues, which have become challenges for one and all. Through Melodrama the event was planned to sensitize the “Generation Next”. It proved to be instant hit. Very entertainingly, the participants kept the audience glued to their seats with their performances. The distinguished guest who evaluated the performance of this event were: Dr. Ashok Rahi, renowned stage artist, Mr. Puneet Sharma, Assistant Professor & actor, and Mr. Vikas Tiwari, Chief Executive, FM Tadka. The winner of the event was Maharaja College of Management, Udaipur and Maharishi Arvind Institute of Engineering and Technology.
 
The next event was “kriti” - The game of innovation and imagination, where in a participants were expected to identify jumbled brand name, create an advertisement with a distinct punch line and enact it within the stipulated time. The judges for the event were: Ms. Prerna Sahani, Product Head, Danik Bhaskar, Dr. Himmat Singh, GM, Reliance and Ms. Aparna Sharma, CFO, Hotel JAIES. The winner was    JECRC school of Management and Subodh Institute of Management and Career Studies was the runner up.
 

 

Malhar, this event is an age-old game of 'Antakshari', brand named and packaged to appeal to the younger generation. Malhar was an vivacious and vibrating mix of lilting songs and throbbing beats. The winner was Global Institute of Management and runners was Yagyavalkya Institute of Technology and Management.


Day Two

Continuing with the enthusiastic mood and enigmatic flavour of the event MOSAIC 2008, the second day also proved to be multifarious at IIIM.

 

BISAAT- A game to test the incisive instinct to win the customer mind space by developing marketing strategies for the product “Pillow” keeping in mind product's sales, distribution, pricing and promotion with the ultimate aim of gaining maximum product mileage. Participants designed the complete portfolio with marketing plan & creative layout (logo, punch line, jingles) bearing in mind the competitive market scenario. The esteemed judges for the event were: Ms. Sneha Katta, CEO, Pink Pepper, Mr. Madhupam Krisna, Vice President, HSBC Bank and Mr. Ashutosh Pant, CEO, Josh Incorporation. The winner was Faculty of Management Studies, Udaipur and Maharishi Arvind Institute of Engineering and Technology stood second.


In NIRMAN, the particulars are required to make a collage to display their creative genius to amalgamate and integrate fragments and scraps into a picture that is meaningful in its totality and entirety. The theme for Nirman was “Fast track 20-20”. Ms. Ritu Gupta, Architect, Ms. Aparna Yadav, Artist and Prof. D. S. Chauhan, University of Rajasthan judged this event. Birla Institute of Technology, took the winners position and Subodh Institute of Management and Career Studies, was runner.
 
INDRADHANUSH is a vibrant and enthralling rangoli-making event to display the rich tradition of our country. The theme for this multihued activity was ' RANGEELO RAJASTHAN'. The distinguished guests who evaluated the performance of this event were Ms. Rashmi Mishra and Dr. Mamta Bhatia, Assistant Regional Director, IGNOU, and Mr. Shwet Goel Astt. Professor ICG Jaipur. The winner was Advent Institute of Management Studies, Udaipur
and Apex Institute of Management and Studies, were the runners up.

Following the interesting list of the Mosaic activities, 'Chintan' was planned to be a serious academic exercise wherein participants administered, “Knowledge Management in Wipro” case to identify, analyze and solve the problems of the corporate world. It was a game to test business acumen and decision making skills of the participating teams.  This event was adjudged by Ms. Tanjul Saxena, Director, Management Development Academy, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma Director RIICO Ltd., and Dr. Hemant Anand, Professor IIHRM. The winner of the event was Subodh Institute of Management and Career Studies, and runners up was Maharishi Arvind Institute of Engineering and Technology.

‘Noopur’ epitomizes a fusion of diverse classical, semi classical and folk dances representing the rich cultural heritage of our country. Participants showed their creativity and left the audience spellbound with their spectacular show. The judges for the event were: Mr. Nitin Dubey, Dancer/Actor, Ms. Priyanka Dubey, Choreographer/ Actress and Ms. Salila Bhansali, CEO, FM Radio 7. The winner of this competition was Faculty Of Management Studies, Udaipur and the runners up team was from JECRC School of Management.


Day Third

Be it singing, dancing, painting or an array of mind catching management games, when young blood is playing them, the show rocks! Young management students solved puzzles, won competitions, showcased business skills and the like, in the last two days of Mosaic 2008.

11th Annual inter-institute activity programme concluded today evening on a blissful note of meeting even more zestfully next year. The popularity level could be well judged with the enthusiastic participation of around 25 management institutes from all over the country. 

The final day of the event was well reserved for fun, frolic, music & dance. To provide a platform to the participants to exhibit their melodious disposition, the singing competition, ‘Swaranjali’ was organized. Singing the tunes of success, IILM Academy of Higher Learning was the winner and  Biyani Girls Management College were runners up. The Judges for this Gala event were Mr. Vivek Upadhyaya, Ms. Sushma Rajeev , Mr. Suresh Gehlot and Mr. Abhishek Bhargava.

In the valediction ceremony, the host institute IIIM presented a fulfilled, kaleidoscopic and psychedelic mosaic of enjoyment and gaiety. A series of cultural presentations concluded with the much applauded ‘Dances' where the IIIMities blazed the floor.

Chief Guest Shri Sunil Arora, IAS, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Principal Secretary to Government Information & Public Relation Department, Rajasthan and Mr. Ajay Sharma, General Manager, Bank of Baroda and Director Dr. Ashok Gupta felicitated the winner and runners up of all the event and also gave away the winning trophy to overall winner institute Subodh Institute of Management and Career Studies, Jaipur and thanked one and all for such an ebullient and mesmerizing participation.
