MCA Orientation 2007 |

IIIM is organizing a one week workshop ‘Parichaya-2007’ for the fresh batch of MCA aspirants from 17th August 2007 to 25th August 2007. During this week-long workshop, participants will be familiarized with different facets of computers education. The students would get an opportunity to interact with prominent experts from different areas of IT to be aware of the emerging trends and concepts in the field of computers and related aspects. On the First Day of the Workshop, the new entrants were welcomed warmly by Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director IIIM. On behalf of the institute he extended his best wishes and expressed the hope that the newly admitted students would bring pride to the institute with their enthusiasm and dedication. The budding software engineers were then enlightened with the academic, cultural and professional flavors of the institute through a presentation. Information is the key to success and Information technology has ballooned to encompass many aspects of computing and technology. This message was conveyed through the presentation ‘TechBytes’. The day concluded with a brief introduction of the freshers. |

On the second day of the Orientation week, Mr. Akhilesh Sharma, CEO, A3 Logics, conducted a highly informative and interactive workshop for the new MCA batch. He opined that more than anything else it is the attitude of an individual which takes one to the altitudes of success. He proved his point through a number of practical examples, Mr. Sharma shared his personal experiences with the new comers and motivated them to develop a positive attitude coupled with thorough technical background for ensuring success in their endeavours. At the end of the workshop, the inquisitive students raised queries, which were answered in detail by the speaker. |

Third day of the Orientation workshop for the
newly admitted MCA Students commenced with an informative lecture by Mr.
Devkant Aggarwal, Manager, IBM Academic Initiative. He discussed about
existing open source technologies. Sir also briefed the students about the
IBM Certificate Courses. |

On the fourth day of Orientation Week, Ms Deepshikha Bhargava, Senior Lecturer, IIIM, elucidated the students on “Code of Ethics for a Computer Professional” and Effective Learning Styles”. Through her interactive discourse Ms. Bhargava, encouraged the freshers to identify their learning style preferences and ensure that they are able to grasp the maximum from facilitators. In the next session, Mr. Vijay Singh Rathore, Asso. Prof., IIIM, introduced the new comers to the MCA curriculum as prescribed by RTU, Kota. He elaborated on each paper per semester, detailing on the prerequisites for learning and textbooks to be referred. Mr. Rathore motivated the students to start early and excel in their studies. |
