A trip to Science Exhibition

Department  of Biotechnology and Chemistry organized a trip for students to the Science Exhibition “Human Genome and Beyond” at the Science Park, Shastri Nagar, Jaipur on 26^th and 29^th March 2008,for UG students & PG students respectively The exhibition was organized by the National Centre for Science Museums, Kolkata. A total of 112 students (UG and PG) from the Departments of Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Zoology and Physics were taken around the various exhibits which encompassed information about how the structure of DNA was elucidated, how various techniques sequencing DNA evaluated and were used to sequence the entire human genome. Gene therapy, Gene chips and various other aspects of implications of genomes were explicitly depicted in various panels.
