Visited Germany

A team of 12 students and a teacher visited Germany on being invited by Johannes Kepller Gymnasium, Stuttgart from 2nd May to 21st May 2011.

On 1st of May, Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director IIS, met the students and their teacher and blessed them best wishes. He also advised the team to spread the Indian culture there and to learn from them. He said that by way of interaction only, hatred from the world can be removed and true principle of ‘Vasudev Kutamabakkam’ i.e. World is One Family can be made practical. Ms. Mala Agnihotri, Sr. Vice Principal, IIS, also blessed the team for the success of this Students’ Exchange Programme.  We prepared a power point presentation on ‘Issues of Globalization’ and ‘Role of Indo German unity in the World Economy’. Besides this, we also presented a cultural show there, which included the famous ‘kaalbeliya dance’ of Rajasthan. There were 3 students from class X and 9 from class XI, with 7 girls and 5 boys. 

After a long flight of almost 14 hours we reached Stuttgart on 2nd of May. A warm welcome was extended by the Principal and the students of the school in Germany.  Almost every day we went out on a trip. We visited the old town of Heidelberg, Lewisburg, and other important places of the city. The most enjoyable visit was to Munich, where the group took the round of the city on bicycles. The other important place, which we got a chance to see, was the Audi car factory. We saw the process of the making of Audi cars. It was a great experience to see the industrial advancement. It was a thrilling experience. Then we also visited the Mercedes Benz Museum. It was great to see the history of Benz cars. We also visited Lake Constant, from where we could see borders of Austria and France.

We took active part in the class activities in our host school of Germany. One day, we learnet to cook traditional German food. We also learnt a lot of things from the Germans. They are very hard working and very punctual, and keep their places very clean. The students from IIS and their German counterpart worked on a project, “Comparison between Rajasthan and Southern Germany”. We presented power point presentation, which impressed everyone present there.

 The principal and the teachers of the school in Germany were highly impressed by the educational system of India. The IIS group consisted of:
