NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL |

16 students of IIS accompanied by 3 teachers attended UMANG – THE NATIONAL FESTIVAL, organized by CBSE and UNFPA, celebrating the evolution of Adolescence Education Programme in different schools all over the country. 21 CBSE schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas from various regions of the country participated in the festival held at Raj Ghat, New Delhi from 27 to 29 December 2009. The students participated in various activities like debate, drama, elocution/extempore, essay/story writing, slogan/jingle writing and poster making. Various workshops like cartoon making, mask making and story telling, creative writing and theatre workshop were compulsory for all the students to attend. Aarti Bhalla of Grade XI and Harsh Agrawal of Grade X won the first prize in extempore and poster making respectively. The school was awarded the 2nd prize in the Best School category.
