INTER HOUSE MULTILINGUAL
POEM RECITATION COMPETITION AND FOLK TALE PRESENTATION

The Interhouse Multilingual Poem Recitation Competition was held on 24 September 2009.

The participants from Grade IX to XII recited poems in English, French, Hindi, Sanskrit and Japanese. The poems ranged from long narrative poems by great poets like Alfred Tennyson to a poem written by the modern poet Roald Dahl. Hindi poems were inspirational poems. The participants showcased their talent for learning a foreign language by their flawless recitation of poems in French and Japanese.

            The students from Grade VI to VIII enacted folk tales in the 5 languages mentioned above with the use of props. The English tale was ‘Pandora and the Box of Troubles’. In Hindi it was an adaptation of a Rajasthani folk tale. The students again proved their ability to learn a language by delivering their lines in the different languages. For the audience, there was a translation in English and Hindi for French, Japanese and Sanskrit presentation. This was a non-competitive presentation.
