FUN DAY FOR CLASS 4 & 5 |

The students from classes 5 to 7 went on an adventure trip to Manali in Himachal Pradesh in the month of March after the grueling exams were over. The boys’ trip was from 18 to 25 March and the girls’ from 22 to 30 March. The trip really was an eye opener for the urban children. They participated in various adventure activities such as mountaineering, river rafting, natural river crossing in Solan Valley, rock climbing, trekking and the best of all snow skiing at a small town Kothi on way to the Rohtang Pass .Many students saw snow for the first time. They visited many places also such as the Mountaineering Institute where they were thrilled to meet Dicky Dolma the youngest female to climb the Mt. Everest at the age of eighteen, the hot water spring at Vashishtha Kunda and the famed Hidimba temple. The most exciting visit was the visit to the Angora Farm in Kullu where they witnessed the entire process of creating a woolen garment from the famous angora wool right from the shearing of the wool to the garment getting prepared. The children would have loved to buy the beautiful angora shawl but couldn’t as the least expensive was priced at Rs 2500/-. On their way back they visited Chandigarh also and saw the world famous Rock Gardens, the Rose Garden and the Sukhna Lake.
