'Parichaya' MBA Orientation 2005

ORIENTATION  PROGRAMME  SCHEDULE

Master's degree in business administration continues to be a popular career option amongst students graduating from different streams. The increasing reputation of the programme has attracted students from diverse backgrounds to aspire for admission into a B-school. This has perhaps enriched the quality to the students taking management courses but has made the task of educators more challenging. Minds trained in different disciplines have to be brought to a common platform and taught various courses of management that are more general than specialist in nature.

Keeping in view the varied background of the MBA aspirants, IIIM is organizing an Orientation Workshop ' Parichaya'  for the fresh batch of the MBA students from 27th July, 2005 through 2nd August, 2005. During the week long workshop, the participants will be familiarized with different aspects of management education. The students will be provided an opportunity to interact with experts from different fields to understand the latest trends and concepts in the field of management and related aspects like placements.

On the first day of the orientation workshop, the freshers were made deeply aware  of the educational body they have entered in. IIIM and its sister organisations were kept in the limelight so as to acquaint the young IIIMites with their work-culture and the achievements of the same. Dr. Ashok Gupta, Director IIIM, while addressing the newcomers, showed great faith that the students will soon realise their decision of choosing IIIM proving to be a fruitful one. He said that the institute offers a right blend of traditional and modern cultural, academic and professional opportunities for overall development. He expressed confidence that the MBA programme at IIIM will turn their lives in right direction and that this new connection will contribute towards furthering the objectives of the institution.
The students were introduced to the institution profile, infrastructure, faculty members and the exiting world of management through slide presentations. A walk through the campus with the exited seniors facilitated juniors in experiencing the warmth in the IIIM family & environment.
