Global Skill Enhancement Programme

A Global Skill Enhancement Programme organized by the Department of College Education, Government of Rajasthan and Progeon Ltd., a BPO division of Infosys was inaugurated today at India International Institute of Management, Mansarovar, Jaipur. The twelve day workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Anil Vaish IAS, Chief Secretary  of  Rajasthan.

Dr. Ashok Gupta ,Director,ICG welcomed the guests  and said that such innovative ventures of the government will change the entire educational scenario of the state. About 120 teachers from 60 government colleges from all over Rajasthan  are participating in the workshop.

Mr. Vaish said that  in the  technological world , language has become a casualty and use of slang has restricted the knowledge of language. The workshop will facilitate learning technology and language to help the teachers train the coming generations. 

Mr. Ram Lubhaya  IAS, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Education, Rajasthan, said that the main objective of this workshop is to create job opportunities for the youth in the BPOs and other industries  by enhancing their communication skills and reasoning abilities. He said that this training will equip the teachers to design a curriculum which will be implemented in the government colleges.      

Mr. Ramesh Kamath , Chief Financial officer, Progeon, said that our education system has failed to fulfill the requirements  of the industry. He also appreciated the efforts of  the  government of  Rajasthan in taking initiative for this programme. Ms. Nandita Gurjar, Vice President  and HR Head of Progeon, was also present in the function. Mr.O.P.Gupta, Joint Secretary  Higher Education, proposed a vote of thanks.
