The workshop on 'Enterprise Application Development with IBM Software' began on Wednesday, October 5, 2005. 25 faculty members from 10 institutions are participating in the workshop.
Mr. Ankur Goyal the IT specialist, IBM the facilitator for the workshop, gave an introduction to DBMS concepts and dealt with the intricacies of the IBM DB2 software. The participants enjoyed getting into the details of database management through the interactive practice sessions.
On the second day, the trainees had an experience of brushing up their Java programming skills and they appreciated the ease of use provided by the Eclipse IDE. Mr. Goyal gave the participants opportunity to try out the smart programming tools provided by Eclipse.
On the concluding day, the participants got an introduction to Web  applications with J2EE and Web sphere. They also had an hands on experience of working on the software for Web Application Development.
The day ended with the valediction ceremony wherein certificates were issued to participants. The workshop was a real learning experience for all.
