A Guest lecture on “Consumer Education”

A Guest Lecture was organized on 11^th Feb, 2009 by Department of Garment Production & Export Management & Fashion Technology in A.V.Hall.

Rtd. Prof. Kavita Marriya from Punjab University, Chandigarh spoke on “Consumer Education”. She guided the students that how a common man can use his rights & responsibilities for the better selection of products. She spoke in reference to textiles and emphasized on the importance of consumer education in terms of their awareness towards the market and shopping styles.

She highlighted the role of consumer education and then she discussed several acts and legislations required for the benefit of the consumer which all together seems to be important in this changing scenario. A number of examples coded by her proved to be very significant, as in all the students have understood the content & concept clearly.
